Turkey, mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce: traditional Thanksgiving dishes

Cool. I never knew that. The answer.
Cranberries are very acidic (hence the tart taste), and milk is very thorough (soft, smooth taste). The reaction of mixing these extreme chemicals causes cranberry acid, which is actually sour milk while in the mouth.
Both are good for you, but probably not at the same time.

What are cranberry recipes?

  • 1 sour apple
  • 1 orange
  • 0.5 l of dry white wine
  • ½ bunch fresh rosemary
  • ½ bunch fresh thyme
  • Salt, white and black pepper, ground coriander
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • Disposable syringe
  • Baking bag

Step 1. Wash the turkey, gut it (leave the giblets for the filling).
Step 2 Grate the bird with spices and salt. Pour wine and leave overnight.
Step 3 Pour marinade into a syringe and chop the bird.
Step 4 Put inside an apple, peeled and sliced, and an orange, sliced, as well as herbs.
Step 5 Sprinkle the sleeve for baking inside with flour, lay the bird in it, tie and bake for 4-6 hours in the oven at a temperature of 180 degrees.
Step 6 When the turkey is ready, open the sleeve, increase the temperature and brown the turkey for 15-20 minutes. Remove the filling and cut the bird into portions.

Step 1. Peel the potatoes, cut into large pieces and boil until soft. To salt
Step 2 Drain water, mashed potatoes with a blender. Heat the cream.
Step 3 Add cream and cheese in mashed potatoes. Beat with a blender again. If necessary, you can additionally dilute the mashed potato broth.
Step 4 Add pepper and salt.

"Stuffing" for turkey

As we already said, often the filling is prepared separately from the bird itself.

Step 1. Rinse and boil offal. Cut in small pieces.
Step 2 Chop the onion and stew in the juice from the turkey, then add the giblets and fry.
Step 3 Peel and finely chop the apple.
Step 4 To the giblets add crackers and an apple, pour the broth, salt, pepper, put rosemary.
Step 5 Bake at low temperature in the oven for 40 minutes. Add chopped greens 10 minutes before cooking.

Pumpkin pie

Pumpkin is the main Thanksgiving table decoration. They also make a pumpkin pie, similar to a cheesecake, and pour whipped cream on it.

  • 400 g flour
  • 1 pack of butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 kg of pumpkin pulp
  • 1.5 cups sugar
  • 1 cup fat cream
  • Cinnamon
  • Vanilla sugar
  • Salt

Step 1. Sift flour and salt into a deep bowl. Grind with soft butter to make greasy crumbs. Add lightly beaten egg and knead the dough.
Step 2 Roll it into a ball, wrap it in film and send it in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
Step 3 Cut the pulp of pumpkin into cubes, add a little water to it and simmer until soft. Then punch in a blender.
Step 4 Roll out the dough to fit the shape, adding an allowance to the sides. Put the dough in a mold and bake for 15 minutes at a temperature of 180 degrees.
Step 5 Beat two eggs with sugar and cream, add everything to the pumpkin and beat again. Put spices and salt.
Step 6 Pour the filling onto the cake and bake for 50-60 minutes at 180 degrees. Cut when the cake has cooled.

Baked Sweet Potato

Step 1. Wash the potatoes, boil until soft and peel.
Step 2 Puree with syrup and sugar.
Step 3 Put in a form and bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes.
Step 4 Serve with butter.
