A window opens with a list of your books and periodicals.

2. Click on the box to the left of the name of the book or periodical to add it to the shelf or remove it from the shelf:

• If there is a flag in the box next to the name, it means the publication will be on the shelf.

• If there is no flag, the publication will be removed from the shelf.

3. When you are finished adding or removing items, click the “Save” button.

To rename a shelf, do the following:

1. Click the edit button to the right of the shelf name.

A window opens with a list of your books and periodicals. The window also has buttons for renaming or deleting a shelf.

2. Click the "Rename" button.

A dialog box appears with an input text box.

3. Click on the text box. When the keyboard appears, change the name of the shelf as you wish. Click the “Save” button.

Removing a shelf does not delete the books and periodicals stored on it. Only the shelf itself is removed.

To remove a shelf, do the following:

1. Click the edit button to the right of the shelf name.

A window opens with a list of your books and periodicals. Buttons for renaming or deleting a shelf also appear at the bottom and top of the window.

A dialog box appears asking for confirmation to delete the shelf.

3. To delete the shelf, click “OK”.

To save space on NOOK, you can archive books and periodicals that you do not currently read. Archiving allows you to save a copy of the book in your account on the Barnes & Noble website, deleting everything except the most basic information about the book (such as the cover, title, author and description) from NOOK memory. You can unzip a book at any time, so your books or periodicals will not be lost.

To archive a book or periodical, do the following:

1. In the Library, double-click the cover or title of a book or periodical.

A window appears with information about the book.

2. On the information page, click the "Archive" button.

A book or periodical will be archived. A list of books or periodicals in the archive can be seen in the library on a shelf called “Archived”.

Note: Archiving is not possible from the Home page. To do this, go to the Library.

Unzipping books and periodicals makes their contents again readable on NOOK.

To unzip, do the following:

1. In the Library, click on the category menu, select "Archived" in the drop-down list.

A list of archived editions appears.

2. Double-click the cover or title of the book you want to unzip.

The book information page appears.

3. Click on the “Unarchive” button.

The contents of the publication will be uploaded to NOOK, and the book will be removed from the Archived shelf.
